Makeup brushes are ESSENTIAL to our beauty routines.
Over time and use, product tends to build up along with other contaminants such as dust, dirt, oils, dead skin, and anything else floating around in our makeup bags and drawers. Using unclean brushes can lead to clogged pores snd breakouts. Bleh! Makeup products can begin to apply unevenly leaving a streaky or patchy look.

Luckily, there is an easy way to clean your brushes at home using household products you most likely already have lying around!
What you’ll need:

- 1/3 cup of vinegar (white or apple cider vinegar)
- 3/4 cup of warm water
- 1 tablespoon of Dawn liquid dishwashing soap
Steps:
- Mix the vinegar, water, and Dawn in a small bowl or cup
- Place makeup brushes face down in the mixture
- Set a timer for 30 minutes

Once 30 minutes is up, removed the brushes one by one and rinse them with warm water. Afterward, lay flat to let them dry – overnight drying is best!

That’s it! Easy, right? Your brushes are all nice and clean. 🙂 I like to do this at least once on a monthly basis. I also use a beauty blender for concealer, and I wash that with soap and water every morning before use.
How often do you wash your makeup brushes? What method do you use? Let me know in the comments below!

I’ve never tried using dish soap before, I usually use baby shampoo so I’ll have to give it a try xo
Loved the tips on makeup brush cleaning!
This is something I think many women overlook but is a MUST! I wash mine monthly as well.
Goodness I always forget to clean my brushes until it’s too late, thanks for the reminder and how to properly do so
